KDV Supply Modules are mains-connected power supply units used in INDRAMAT modular AC drive systems to feed multiple spindle and servo drive modules through a shared DC link. The KDV series is designed for direct connection to a three-phase 380 to 460 VAC, 50/60 Hz mains supply. Inside the module, a controlled three-phase bridge rectifies the incoming AC power, while link capacitors smooth and stabilize the DC bus for the connected drives. During braking or generator operation, the module can return regenerated energy to the mains, reducing energy loss in the drive system. If mains power is switched off or unavailable, regenerated energy is managed through the link circuit and can be dissipated through a parallel bleeder path to keep the DC link within safe limits. The electronics can also remain supplied from the DC-link voltage long enough to support controlled shutdown behavior. In addition to the main DC bus, the KDV provides low-voltage supplies for the connected modules, including +24 V load voltage and ±15 V measuring voltages. Control and monitoring signals are exchanged through the signal-voltage bus, and the Bb1 readiness contact provides a required status signal before the system is permitted to power down.
