This bleeder module features an onboard chopper and resistor assembly to handle rapid regenerative events and prevent bus overvoltage excursions. Its primary function is to safely dissipate excess kinetic energy during braking cycles, protecting both drives and power supplies. Engineered for continuous industrial operation, the TBM 1.1-20-W1/220V offers straightforward mounting and an IP-rated enclosure to resist dust and debris while maintaining thermal stability.



In precise performance terms, the module provides a DC Bus Power rating of 11 60 kW and a peak dissipation capability of 10 50 kW to absorb regenerated energy in real time. It is specifically used to Absorb Regenerated Energy generated by TVM inverters operating in generator mode, ensuring the bus voltage remains below the threshold voltage at all times. During braking events, the chopper engages automatically once the bus reaches the setpoint, diverting current through the resistor to dissipate heat safely. The resistor is dimensioned to handle thermal spikes, while the chopper's switching frequency is optimized for minimal ripple on the DC link.



Designed for reliable integration, the TBM 1.1-20-W1/220V module mounts in parallel with high-voltage supplies to secure stored charge in filter capacitors when power is removed. This feature prevents residual voltage hazards and reduces shock risk for maintenance personnel. Additionally, the module can function as a passive voltage divider or fine voltage regulator, minimizing the gap between no-load and full-load voltages for improved bus stability.
