CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules are modular microprocessor-based controllers used to manage servo-driven positioning tasks in industrial machinery. The CLM series controls multiple axes through a combination of parameter settings and an internal user program, allowing machine sequences to be configured directly within the controller. During operation, the module handles amplifier enable signals, brake control, and position feedback from incremental or absolute encoders to maintain closed-loop control over axis position and speed. System operation is divided into modes such as manual jog, setup, automatic cycle, and parameter entry, with operating status and fault messages displayed through an integrated keypad/display that can also be installed remotely. Motion functions include homing, travel-limit monitoring, and programmable positioning using either incremental or absolute moves. This makes the CLM platform suitable for repeatable positioning applications where core axis control can be handled without depending on a separate PLC.
