MSM IndraDyn S Synchronous Motors

Rexroth IndraDyn S MSM Motors are compact synchronous servo motors developed for fast, precise motion in IndraDrive-based machine systems. The family covers several frame sizes from roughly 50 W to 750 W, with continuous torque ratings of about 0.16 to 2.4 Nm, peak torque reaching approximately 7.1 Nm, and maximum speeds up to 5,000 rpm depending on motor size. Position feedback is handled by optical absolute encoders available in single-turn or multi-turn versions, while optional holding brakes and separate power and encoder connectors support different installation requirements. MSM motors provide IP54 protection and can be mounted in standard IM B5, IM V1, or IM V3 orientations, with rated operation specified from 0 to 40 °C and derated operation possible up to 55 °C. Plain-shaft versions are intended for backlash-free friction-locked hub connections using suitable clamping elements, and the bearing system is designed for a nominal L10h service life of 20,000 hours when shaft loading remains within specified limits. Brake-equipped versions use an externally supplied holding brake with low mechanical backlash and high permissible switching-cycle capability for repeated axis holding.
