RZP Option Modules

For RD 500 systems that need more than the base converter hardware provides, RZP Option Modules act as plug-in expansion cards for adding machine-specific communication and interface functions. These cards install in control-module slot 1 or slot 2 and allow RD51 and RD52 drives to be configured for networks such as Interbus S, CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, SERCOS, SynchroLink, or peer-to-peer coupling. Other RZP versions add functions such as incremental encoder emulation, external encoder input, or expanded control-terminal connections. The module communicates with the RD 500 control card through the process-data interface, while the selected slot determines whether the drive firmware accesses it through the SS2 or SS4 serial interface path. RZP modules can be installed at the factory or added later as retrofit hardware, but the approved card combinations, slot assignments, and parameter settings must match the specific RD51 or RD52 configuration.
