TDA Main Spindle Controllers are Bosch Rexroth Indramat modular digital AC spindle controllers used with 2AD asynchronous main spindle motors and 1MB frameless spindle motors in CNC machine-tool applications. The series is designed for rigid spindle regulation, broad constant-power speed operation, and precise spindle behavior in demanding machining systems. TDA controllers include internal position-control capability for automatic spindle orientation during tool or workpiece changes, using direct motor feedback in 1:1 drive arrangements or an additional spindle encoder for belt-driven and geared spindle designs. When used for C-axis operation, the controller can operate the spindle as an interpolating servo axis with high-resolution position control and selectable incremental encoder-style output to the CNC for accurate low-speed positioning. Setup is handled through parameter-based commissioning, with machine and motor data stored on a plug-in programming module for repeatable configuration. Command integration can be matched to the CNC system through analog speed input, 16-bit parallel digital command input, or SERCOS communication for real-time command, feedback, and parameter exchange.
