HVE Power Supply Units are second-generation supply modules used to generate the DC bus for connected drive controllers in modular industrial drive systems. The HVE series operates from three-phase 380–480 VAC mains at 50/60 Hz and provides an unregulated DC bus that typically falls within the 530–670 V range depending on line and operating conditions. Regenerated motor energy is managed through an integrated bleeder system rather than being fed back to the mains. Available variants are identified through a structured type code that defines the unit line, design level, cooling method, and nominal power class. Common power classes include 18 kW, 30 kW, and 75 kW, with air cooling provided by an internal built-in blower. Bleeder performance varies by module size, with each version specifying continuous braking power, peak braking capability, and maximum allowable regenerated energy. For system design, HVE supplies can also be used with defined DC-bus choke combinations and must stay within the permitted limits for external DC-bus capacitance, allowing the supply to be sized around the application’s power demand and braking-energy requirements.
